Leopold Stokowski’s score of the Toccata and Fugue in d minor for organ by Bach, from the Otto E. Albrecht Music Library at the University of Pennsylvania. The conductor’s markings indicate concepts for his famous orchestration of the piece [which the WCFSO will perform this weekend]. More detailed images documenting Stokowski’s process, including several pertaining to his collaboration with clarinetist and arranger Lucien Cailliet, are here.
Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, featured on this weekend’s WCFSO concert, makes an appearance in this nicely constructed short by Anthony Edels.
