Opera ball
Three of my favorite things – Spain, the LA Lakers, and opera – come together in Chris Connelly’s halftime piece for ABC from Sunday’s Game 5 of the NBA Finals. The Los Angeles Times Culture Monster blog applauds this special instance of harmony between basketball and music, with the caveat that ‘if the Lakers’ power forward/center returns to the opera, let’s hope he isn’t sitting in front of us.’
