The Berlin Philharmonic has been getting quite a bit of attention lately for its Digital Concert Hall, a fee-based, HD video-on-demand service now entering its second season. And no wonder – just check out the production quality of this teaser:
The orchestra’s first 2009/10 concert – featuring music by Britten, Saariaho and Berlioz – takes place Friday at 1pm EST, and free electronic tickets are still available through the website of sponsor Deutsche Bank. Or head over to Gramaphone Magazine’s Listening Room for information on a free promotional code redeemable for one performance between now and the end of September [including tomorrow’s or any other single DCH offering]. If your attention span before a computer screen runs a bit shorter than what is required for a full orchestra concert, the Berlin Phil blip.tv page has plenty of intriguing snippets on offer as well.
