The Rambler weighs in on two recent copyright throwdowns mangled by the Royal Opera House:
‘Copyright was never intended primarily as a means for generating income … the goals [were] not wealth creation, but the promotion of enlightenment through the increased creation and provision of works of literature and learning.’
Sadly this historical and legal truth is news to the ROH, not to mention music publishers, composer estates, recording artists, all the major media companies, etc etc etc …
