4’33” → The playlist
Inspired by Alex Ross’ post-modern tribute to John Cage on what would have been the composer’s 98th birthday, here is my 4’33” playlist consisting of every track in my music library whose length matches that of Cage’s 1952 conceptual composition. Do your eyes a favor and view the hi-res version.
Like Alex I have a preponderance of Cage-length Mozart, but more notable for the avant-garde hip hop heads is the presence of Mos Def in no fewer than 4 tunes of 4’33”.
